Bluefins swimmers at Spain training camp 2014

Bluefins, Spain training camp

Training

All swimmers are strongly advised and expected to attend all training sessions.

  • You will get the most benefit from your membership, not to mention your fees!
  • Respect for your coaches - all Bluefins' Coaches are highly qualified, very dedicated, and work on an entirely voluntary basis - the very least you can do is turn up!
  • Please listen to your Coach – you may be given safety information as well as swimming instructions.
Information for swimmers
  • You should perform the mobility exercises that you have been taught - without being reminded to! If you are not sure of the exercise order, please ask to be shown properly by one of the coaches. Some swimmers stretch their muscles every morning and evening as well as before training.
  • You will become far more flexible doing regular stretching (providing your muscles are warm before you start) and able to perform better.

Equipment, such as goggles, Bluefins hats, swimsuits, flippers, kick boards and other swimming items are sold through the Bluefins Swim Shop. Please put your name on all your belongings.

  • Check the Forres Bluefins' notice board regularly, this is where most information is passed on.
  • Information and news can also be found on the Bluefins' Facebook page.
  • If you have any queries, please ask either your Coach or one of the Committee members, who will be happy to help.
  • As mentioned above, please try to attend all of the allocated training if you are able to.
  • Aim to arrive about ten minutes before the training session.
  • Wait quietly on the poolside as there may be lessons taking place; it is courteous to be quiet for these young swimmers.
  • Coaches may invite swimmers to different and additional training sessions and restrict some squads from sessions depending on numbers.
  • For Safety reasons, please do not enter the water until your Coach allows you to.
